DS Smith Recycling, one of the largest paper and cardboard recyclers in the United Kingdom, implemented MiX Fleet Manager and RIBAS to improve driver performance and safety within their fleet. This solution has reduced harsh acceleration, harsh braking, excessive idling and over-revving.
Currently one of the largest paper and cardboard recyclers in the United Kingdom, DS Smith Recycling has been a staple in the packaging industry since the 1940s. In an effort to improve their safety and efficiency standards, they turned to MiX Telematics to implement a holistic telematics solution to better manage their driver performance.
Using the MiX Fleet Manager solution with RIBAS dashboard-mounted driver display, DS Smith Recycling has implemented a personalised driver scoring system. This system helps to monitor and correct bad driver behaviour using set parameters. Drivers are scored accordingly and given feedback through the MyMiX driver app.
With the help of MiX Telematics’s solutions and its dedicated consultancy service, DS Smith Recycling saw significant improvements in driver performance within six months of the initial implementation. In the second phase, continued driver engagement and a customised workshop programme has been applied to, amongst many other features, coach drivers and, encourage safe and fuel-efficient driving.
